The Implant Process

The implant procedure is typically performed in two stages: the implant placement stage and the restoration stage.

  • The implant placement stage is when the titanium implant is placed into your jawbone. You may experience some discomfort and swelling following the implant placement, but this will subside within a few days.
  • The implant restoration stage is when the replacement tooth or dental bridge is attached to the implant. This takes place around three or four months following placement surgery.

Once your implant is complete, you will need to care for it like you would any other natural tooth. Be sure to brush and floss regularly and visit our office for regular check-ups. With proper care, your dental implants can last a lifetime!

If you are considering dental implants as an option for tooth replacement, contact our St. George, UT office to begin the next step. We would be happy to answer any of your questions and help you get started on the path to a restored, beautiful smile!
